Interrupt is a card type.
Details[]
It is an obsolete card type, primarily used for counterspells in older sets. It was discontinued in Magic: The Gathering's Sixth Edition in April 1999. After said Sixth Edition, the keyword was no longer supported and key cards were later changed to instants. An Interrupt acted much like an instant cast spell card, save that interrupts were always resolved first, and so could only be responded to by other interrupts. During the Time Spiral Block, this "faster than instant" concept was revisited in the form of cards with Split Second.
